Canning!

One of the things that we’ve been doing this week with Marty’s parents is canning!  They taught us how to can tomatoes and peaches (on two different nights) and they were both really fun.  Although it turns out that tomatoes and peaches are very slippery when wet, who knew!?

Anyway, here’s  a picture of Marty’s mom and me canning tomatoes:

Not a good picture of either of us, nor my kitchen, but still, you can tell we were enjoying it, and that’s what’s important. And now, after all of the canning, we have five jars of tomatoes, five jars of peaches, and an extra jar of tomatoes and a giant tupperware of peaches in the fridge!  Hooray!
